Making Disciples Through the Word of God
The mission of Third Baptist Church is the same mission Jesus gave his followers: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20).
At Third Baptist Church, our mission is to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ through the faithful teaching of Scripture, gospel-centered community, and intentional discipleship.
Everything we do—from Sunday worship gatherings to Life Groups, missions, counseling, and ministry throughout the week—is centered on helping people know God through His Word and grow in faithful obedience to Christ.
As a church serving Murfreesboro and Rutherford County, we desire to be a steady and biblical presence in a rapidly growing community.

Rather than chasing trends or building ministry around personalities, our desire is to faithfully teach the Scriptures, disciple believers, and point people to Christ.

Shepherding the Church Together
Third Baptist Church is led by a plurality of elders who are committed to shepherding, teaching, praying for, and caring for the church body.
We believe shared biblical leadership provides wisdom, accountability, stability, and faithful care for the congregation.
Our pastors and ministry leaders work together to equip the church for ministry and help believers grow in spiritual maturity through the teaching of God’s Word.

Third Baptist Church is a Baptist church committed to the authority of Scripture, salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and the mission of the local church.
We believe:
- The Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God
- Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone
- Jesus Christ is Lord and the only hope for salvation
- The church exists to glorify God and make disciples
- Christians are called to live faithfully according to God’s Word
