Prospective student pastor

Stephen Starr

Stephen will complete a Master of Divinity degree in Christian Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in spring of 2021. He graduated from The College at SEBTS with a major in Christian Studies and minor in Pastoral Ministry. Stephen has a passion for Next Generation ministry, and his desire is to disciple students with the gospel of Jesus Christ so that their lives look more like Him.

Stephen grew up in Jonesboro, Georgia, and was one of eight children in his family. He was active in the ministries of FBC, Jonesboro, helping to lead the college ministry as well as starting a homeschool outreach ministry in the church. While in college and seminary at SEBTS, Stephen served in the middle school ministry and kid's ministry of the church they attended in the Wake Forest area.

Stephen also has extensive experience in the secular workforce. He was employed for 9 years with Chick-Fil-A and eventually served as a team manager. While in seminary, Stephen was employed full-time by Wells Fargo and was recognized as Team Member of the Year for 3 years.

Stephen and his wife Hilary were married in 2013 have three children: Harrison, 5; Summer, 4; and Rhett, 3 months. They currently live in Wake Forest, NC.

In his free time, Stephen enjoys college football (he's a Georgia Bulldog), riding motorcycles, and anything outdoors.

November 21-22

Stephen, Hilary and their children will be at 3BC in view of a call to serve as Pastor to Students. He'll meet with our deacons, student volunteers, and students & families, joining us in worship on Sunday to share his testimony. At the end of our worship that morning, we'll enter into a called member's meeting to vote to call Stephen as pastor. Make plans to join us and be part of this important event in the ministry of 3BC.

Saturday, November 21

8:30 am - breakfast with the 3BC Deacons (fellowship hall)

10:00 am - meet with student volunteers (fellowship hall)

11:00 am - meet with students and families & church members (fellowship hall)

12:00 pm - lunch with students & families (fellowship hall)

Sunday, November 22

8:45 am - Stephen & Hilary in Life Groups with students

10:00 am - 3BC worship

At the conclusion of our worship, we will enter into a called member's meeting to vote on the recommendation from our Personnel Committee to call Stephen as Pastor to Students.
